Tuition & Fees
Prior professional experience tuition savings
MPA students can receive credit for 3 to 6 hours of course work—or more, in rare cases—for prior professional experience (PPE) or service in the military, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, or Teach for America. That can translate to tuition savings of more than $3,500 for Indiana residents or $6,800 for nonresidents.
Students with significant senior level management experience in public affairs (including military service) may qualify for 9 to 12 hours of credit for professional experience, which translates to a potential savings of more than $7,000 for Indiana residents or $13,600 for nonresidents.
SPEA Connect 2016–17 tuition for the MPA and certificates is:
- $583.46/credit hour for Indiana residents and qualifying military/veteran students
- $1,139.94/credit hour for non-residents
- $30.00/credit hour Distance Education Course Fee for all students
Most courses are 3 credit hours. Students typically enroll in one or two courses (3 to 6 credit hours) per semester or summer session.
All fees are subject to change without notice by action of the Trustees of Indiana University.
